Keeping it in the family

My niece loves helping make scrambled eggs and has always had a healthy food curiosity – at 18 months she ate bell peppers like they were apples.

Back in March when I was visiting her in Hong Kong, I blanched some asparagus for a dinner salad. She was watching closely and her reaction was enthusiastic: “Oooh green… Sofia taste…” and then she promptly munched through 4 of the 12 spears I had set aside.

It’s her birthday at the end of the month so tonight I bought her a chef’s outfit: coat & toque, wooden utensils and I also picked up a pizza kit.

I just know she’s going to love it.

Did I mention she’s turning 3?
